Online paedophile hunters meet suspected groomer at Newport train station

A NEWPORT man has been arrested on suspicion of grooming a minor with sexual intent. The group H Division shared a live video on Facebook of their confrontation with a man they claim to have been speaking to online via a dating website. The men filming video at at Newport train station claim that they have been speaking to the man for four weeks online. A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “At 11.07am this morning, Wednesday 12th April, we received a call from a member of the public at Newport Train Station, saying that an individual had been detained who was believed to be involved in grooming offences. Skimming device used at gas station, state police investigating identity theft

WASHINGTON, Pa. —Pennsylvania State police in Washington County are investigating an identity theft incident and have released surveillance photos of the alleged suspects asking for the public’s help identifying them. Police say a skimming device was placed on a the card reader of a gas pump at the Lone Pine One Stop Exxon Gas Station on Amity Ridge Road in Washington. The victim’s compromised bank account information and PIN were used in July and August of 2015 at several locations in the State of California and the Pittsburgh area, police said. The device is believed to have been removed from the pump in May 2015. The investigation is ongoing. Contact Pennsylvania State Police in Washington at 724-223-5200 with information. A watchful Regina gas station clerk has foiled what police believe to be an attempted credit card scam — one that could have implications that reach beyond this province.

Johnson City police arrested an Elizabethton woman Tuesday on charges that she used another person’s credit card to make purchases. Heather K. Richardson, 23, 220 Nave Hollow Loop, Elizabethton, was with fraudulent use of a credit or debit card and theft of property over $1,000. Police said Richardson’s arrest resulted from an investigation into fraudulent charges made to a Belk Department Store credit card. The investigation showed Richardson unlawfully used the victim’s credit card to make purchases in Tennessee and North Carolina. Richardson turned herself in Tuesday at the Washington County Detention Center, where she was held on $20,000 bond. She was arraigned Wednesday in Sessions Court. Tuesday’s arrest was not Richardson’s first in Johnson City: — In August 2013, she was charged with shoplifting. — In January 2014, Richardson was charged with aggravated assault. — In February 2014, she was one of two people arrested when police found drugs at a Johnson City hotel. Richardson and Terelle Sanders were each charged with possession of schedule II drugs for resale, possession of schedule VI drugs for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said the arrests resulted from a “knock and talk” at a room at the Double Tree Hotel, 211 Mockingbird Lane. […]
