Trustwave says it’s hiring hundreds to grow its cybersecurity business in Chicago

Trustwave, the Chicago-based information security firm that helps businesses protect against cyberattacks, unveiled its expanded headquarters and announced an internship program with the City Colleges of Chicago Monday at an event with Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Chicago police arrest 14-year-old in alleged sexual assault broadcast on Facebook Live

Chicago police have arrested a 14-year-old who is suspected of participating in the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl that was streamed live on Facebook.

The teen was taken into custody Saturday night and is one of several juveniles suspected to have been involved in the alleged attack, Chicago police said. He is facing felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, manufacturing of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography, Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the police department, told the AP.

The arrest comes about two weeks after the girl’s family and friends said they witnessed her attack by several males on Facebook Live.

Gummy Bears Send 14 Chicago High School Students To Hospital

These were not your average gummy bears.

Students at a suburban Chicago high school were hospitalized on Tuesday after eating gummy bears that might have been laced with marijuana, CBS News’ local WBBM station reported.

Investigators have not yet confirmed if the candies were tampered with or which substances might have been added, but Naperville High School students reportedly told authorities the candies contained marijuana.

Edward Hospital doctors treated 12 of the 14 students after they experienced symptoms including increased heart rate, dizziness and dry mouth from consuming the possibly tainted candies, Naperville School District wrote on its Facebook page Tuesday night.

Chicago Mayor Pledges $36 Million to Mentor Youths in Effort to Curb Violence – District Dossier – Education Week

In an address focused on curbing the gun violence that has plagued Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel pledged $36 million in city and philanthropic funds to expand mentoring programs to 7,200 boys and male youths. He also plans to expand a similar program for women and opportunities for unemployed and out-of-school youths.
