Detectives take the stand in Sena child abuse case

Las Vegas – Metro detectives took the stand Wednesday revealing more about what officers are calling one of the most horrific child sex rings in recent memory in Las Vegas.Deborah Sena, her husband Christopher Sena and his ex-wife Terrie Sena are all accused of sexually abusing children for years.

The detectives testified about what they found on Christopher’s computers. They said he taped many of the sex acts with children. These videos were played in court just for the judge and the attorneys present.

Detectives also had to describe what they found on them. They say it shows various sex acts with kids.

To Tad Nelson, a crime scene represents pieces of a puzzle waiting to be solved. “The physical evidence tells a story,” the Illinois State Police crime scene investigator said recently, seated at his desk at the Moline Police Department surrounded by crime lights, fingerprint brushes and other tools of his trade. Seven years on the job trained him to approach a crime scene with an analytical mindset. “I’m there for answers,” he said. “I’m there to get answers and to identify possible evidence to help us get answers. We’re there to help family members, or the friends, or the loved ones, who are still there.” Hired by the state police in 2000, Nelson was a road trooper and accident reconstructionist until 2007 when, intrigued by their “intricate” caseload, he applied to work as a crime scene investigator. State CSIs typically completes nine months to a year of on-the-job training learning to identify evidence, from latent prints and footprints to potential DNA. Before their training is complete, recruits must comb through a mock crime scene; if they correctly identify and catalog evidence, the real work begins. Detectives investigating credit card fraud

LARGO – Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Economic Crimes Unit need help to locate a credit card fraud suspect wanted in connection with crimes in the Largo area. In a Feb. 11 media release, detectives reported that a credit card was stolen from a wallet in a shopper’s purse at the Dollar Tree, 10801 Starkey Road in Largo Jan. 17 between 1 and 1:45 p.m. A short time later, the suspect was observed using the victim’s credit cards to make purchases at various locations in Largo including a CVS Pharmacy, 8905 Bryan Dairy Road. The suspect is described as a black female, mid 30s to early 40s, with a heavy build and with long black hair.
