Jimmy Kimmel Got Kids To Throw Sh*t At Their Dads For Father’s Day

Ah, Father’s Day

It’s that special time each year when you should honor Dad, go out of your way to make sure he’s comfortable, and then expose his severe lack of hand-eye coordination.

For Jimmy Kimmel‘s latest Father’s Day challenge, he asked kids all over the country to throw random objects at their dads. There weren’t many rules except that you shouldn’t throw something that can hurt Dad. Though the real harm may be what Dad feels inside .

Father’s Day Food Memories

Even though Father’s Day is about six months off from Hannukah, it always makes me think of my taciturn father’s potato pancakes.

Made in a large, battered cast iron pan, these latkes were always perfect: crisp outside, juicy inside, delicious whether with sour cream, sugar, apple sauce, or just plain. My brother and I tried them every way.

I loved to watch my father cook, as patient as a scientist, as skilled as a musician playing a piece he’s performed more times than he can remember. Sometimes he even made what he called a potato babka: pouring the batter into a large loaf pan and baking it.

HuffPost Hosting Big Father’s Day Event In NYC

Can you think of a better way to celebrate Father’s Day in the city than a chat with the ‘rents and some burgers?

This Sunday, The Huffington Post is hosting a Facebook Live booth at Shake Shack in Madison Square Park from 12pm-6pm that will broadcast conversations between parents and their children. The booth is inspired by the online video series “Talk To Me,” a movement dedicated to fostering intergenerational conversation.

A Very Sad Father’s Day Tale

On the train home after seeing my daughter Stephanie for the first time in many years I reflected on the situation. I realized that the reason I felt so bad about leaving my daughter Stephanie when I went away to serve my 15-to-Life prison sentence was because I had experienced the issue of abandonment by my father. My father Roberto was an abusive alcoholic that made my mother’s life a living hell.

My mom told me that when I was six months old, Roberto, in a drunken stupor, held me by one foot and hung me out of the third floor window of their South Bronx apartment.

Festive, Fun and Fresh Activities and Ideas for Father’s Day

2016-06-07-1465326950-2616079-gardeningdad.jpg

Traveling across the globe, I have seen how fathers are celebrated cross-culturally, from hand-made origami in Japan, to cards and gifts in the USA. I sat down with my summer intern Shannan Bloomstrand, Clemson University Student and International Health Major, to collaborate on ideas for spending time with dear Dad, this Father’s Day, June 19th.

Tired of getting your Dad a different tie every year? Looking for something more meaningful than a gift he may only use every couple of years? Well, look no further. Father’s day is a great opportunity to spend valuable time with your dad.

Super Weird Father’s Day Gifts For Your Super Weird Dad

Being a dad is one of the greatest experiences a guy can have, but the job comes with responsibilities — especially if you’re a weird dad.

Kids may not realize it, but when they give a weird dad a normal Father’s Day gift like a tie, golf clubs or an Amazon gift card, a part of Pop dies inside.

It’s the weird thought that counts with Dad, which is why HuffPost Weird News is once again helping out by curating only the most bizarre gifts that strange fathers everywhere will love.

And, yes, some of them involve getting drunk.
