Dad accused of picking daughter up from school with drugs, guns

Police said a Beaver County man was on his way to pick up his kids from school when he was arrested with drugs, guns and a large amount of cash.

Officers arrested Darryl Dixon on school property Wednesday afternoon just as students were going home for the day here at Highland Elementary in Harmony Township.

“He had a gun in his pocket and $8,000 in cash on him,” said Harmony Township police Officer Jason Vular.

Police said Dixon on his way to pick up his two Young kids at the stopped first to do a drug deal… people noticed suspicious behavior and called 911.

California teen arrested for possession of drugs, guns

A 17-year-old was arrested Saturday evening after police found out that he was in possession of drugs and guns.

Officers conducted a probation search around 5:44 PM, police said.

A loaded .32 caliber revolver, a loaded .380 automatic handgun, half a pound of a substance that’s suspected to be methamphetamine, and an ounce of marijuana was found during the probation search, police said.

Officers located some evidence that suggested illegal sale of narcotics and large amounts of cash, according to police.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of drug offenses, numerous weapons, and violating probation, police said.

25-year-old Vacaville resident Martin Rodriguez was arrested during the search for an unrelated outstanding warrant, police said.

Wyoming Senate Committee Endorses Guns in Schools

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A bill that would allow people with concealed carry permits to take their guns to most public places in Wyoming has received the support of a state Senate committee.

The Senate Education Committee endorsed the bill 3-2 Wednesday after changing it to let local governing officials decide whether to allow concealed-carry in public places.

House Bill 114 now heads to the Senate floor for more debate.

The bill’s sponsor, Republican Rep. Allen Jaggi of Lyman, says he doesn’t like the proposed changes.

Jaggi’s proposal would allow concealed carry permit holders to take their weapons to any public place, including schools and college campuses, or event, except courtrooms.
