Never choose your own dating profile picture if you want to find romance, say scientists

Daters are being warned not to choose their own profile picture if they want to find romance online. New research has found that strangers are far better at picking the most flattering images to give a more favourable first impression to prospective suitors. The findings appear to contradict previous research which showed that people tend to portray themselves more favorably than others. “Our findings suggest that people make poor choices when selecting flattering images of themselves for online profile pictures, which affects other people’s perception of them,” said Dr David White, lead author from the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Jessica Simpson’s kids, son Ace and daughter Maxi Drew, are flat-out adorable. 

Over the weekend, the singer-turned-fashion mogul shared a behind-the-scenes photo from picture day on Instagram, in which her kiddos show off big smiles for the camera. They look utterly angelic. 

“Behind the scenes of school pictures…seriously?!?!?” Simpson captioned the sweet photo. “Thank you God for these precious kiddos.”

Uploading children’s picture in social media can be dangerous – psychologist

social19n-3-webThe action of proud parents in uploading personal pictures of their children on social media can be dangerous, according to a psychology expert.

Dr Meriam Omar Din said this was because by doing so, the children would be exposed to cyber crimes, or even becoming a target of paedophiles.

“Some of these parents are simply naive and they love their children so much to the extent of wanting to share everything with the world. They don’t realise the risks for their children’s pictures to be over-exposed in the social media,” she told Bernama today.
