Pennsylvania man who sent child porn to Ohio teen looking at 13-year sentence

A Pennsylvania man, who prosecutors said drove to Northeast Ohio to have sex with a 14-year-old Tallmadge girl and take pictures of her, faces a 13-year prison term, though a judge said he would making his final sentencing decision in a few weeks.

James Cortelyou of Allentown had sex with the girl at a hotel in Kent in 2015, authorities said. He took pictures of her wearing a diaper and infant-style clothing, they said. Another image showed the girl with marks on her back, which were the result of Cortelyou flogging her.

The 37-year-old tried to argue to U.S. District Judge Dan Polster that “everyone’s guilty of making mistakes but they shouldn’t be defined by them.

Ex-Subway pitchman Jared Fogle appealing sentence for sex crimes

Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is appealing the more than 15-year prison sentence he received for possessing child pornography and having sex with underage prostitutes, which was longer than the maximum term prosecutors agreed to pursue as part of his plea deal.

Attorney Ron Elberger said Tuesday that he’s appealing Fogle’s sentence, but he declined to discuss it in detail. He filed the notice of appeal in federal court in Indianapolis on Monday.

Fogle pleaded guilty last month to one count each of distributing and receiving child porn and traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a child. As part of his plea deal, he agreed not to seek a sentence of less than five years in prison and prosecutors agreed not to push for more than 12 1/2 years behind bars.

Federal prosecutors: Southern New Jersey faces child pornography charges, could face 20-year sentence

A southern New Jersey man is facing child pornography charges.

Federal prosecutors say 37-year-old Eric Ziegler got the images and videos through a website that operated on an anonymous online network. The Williamstown man is charged with receiving child pornography and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The charges stem from a search warrant executed Thursday at his home. Investigators say they found 41 computer discs containing child sexual abuse, including images and video files of men having sex with young girls.

Prosecutors say law enforcement officers learned in February that a user of an online account registered at Ziegler’s home was linked to an online community of people who regularly sent and received child pornography.

New Hampshire Prep School Rape Sentence: Owen Labrie To Serve 1 Year In State Jail

Owen Labrie was sentenced Thursday to one year in jail and probation during a hearing at a New Hampshire court. Labrie, 20, was found guilty of three misdemeanor charges in August in a case that revealed the lurid details of a practice at the elite St. Paul’s School known as “the senior salute,” where senior students would take underclassmen on dates and often try to engage in sexual activities.

When Labrie was an 18-year-old senior at the prep school in Concord, New Hampshire, in 2014, he was accused of raping a 15-year-old student. He was cleared of the felony rape charge, but the misdemeanor charges that he was Read More

Former educator gets 15-year sentence in child porn case

A former teaching assistant in Anchorage will spend up to 15 years in prison for possessing and distributing child pornography.

KTUU reports (http://bit.ly/1OqW0nn) 34-year-old Daniel Allan Brown was also sentenced Friday to lifetime supervision. Investigators say they found over 40,000 images and videos of child pornography on his computer.

Authorities began investigating Brown after he started trading images with an undercover agent in New Zealand. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Reardon says Brown took pictures of students that were not pornographic and used some as avatars on websites where he traded illicit images.

Reardon says Brown will serve at least 12 years and six months before becoming eligible for release.
