Boy Calls 911 To Ask Deputies Over For Family’s Thanksgiving Dinner

A 5-year-old boy in Florida just wanted to give thanks to his local sheriff’s office this Thanksgiving.

Billy dialed 911 on Thursday to ask Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies to join him and his family for their holiday dinner at their DeFuniak Springs home.

“Will you come over because we are having Thanksgiving. Thank you bye,” he said to the operator, before hanging up.

What I’m Grateful For On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a good time to reflect on what you feel happy about in your life.  Sometimes, your life can feel less #blessed than those around you.  Especially in the age of social media, it is easy to assume that people are posting a representative sample of their lives on Facebook or Instagram, but they are likely culling the best, the shots that make them feel happy.  (I know I do!) No matter what your situation, you can find something to be grateful for, and modeling this gratitude for your kids can show them that there is always a way to focus on the positive.

Woman arrested on charges of DWI, child abuse after Thanksgiving crash

Santa Fe County deputies say they arrested a 26-year-old woman who crashed through a guard barrier on Interstate 25 while driving drunk on Thanksgiving Day with a 7-year-old relative in the vehicle.

Neither Kathryn Byrant, the driver, nor her young relative were injured in the crash. Deputies arrested Bryant of Rio Rancho on a charge of child abuse, aggravated drunken driving and careless driving.

Deputies first responded to the scene after receiving reports of a sedan speeding and swerving on northbound Interstate 25 near the N.M. 599 exit. Byrant, deputies said, apparently lost control and drove through a guardrail at about 5:
