China has been blamed for a cyber attack on Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology that may have compromisedCOMPUTER systems across the federal government, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported, citing unidentified sources. TheSECURITY breach will cost millions of dollars to fix as other agencies that receive information from the bureau have been affected, the national broadcaster said, citing official sources it didn’t identify. The weather bureau declined to comment onSECURITY matters, beyond saying it worked closely with government security agencies. The bureau’s “systems are fully operational”, according to a statement on its website. The office of Attorney General George Brandis did not immediately respond to e-mailed request for comment on the report. China has previously denied reports of hacking, including claims reported by the Daily Telegraph in 2011 that its intelligence agencies accessed the e-mails of senior Australian officials including then prime minister Julia Gillard. Angry parents protested outside a primary school after it emerged an 11-year-old girl had been charged with sex offences.
Police were called to the school in Stirling, Scotland, as a ten-strong crowd of parents gathered at the gate.
Locals described the scene as “absolute chaos” and reported dozens of pupils being pulled out of the school by their worried parents.
A community police officer was able to disperse the crowd of outraged parents which gathered at around 1:30pm yesterday afternoon.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Daily Record that a child had been charged with a number of offences, including sex offences, and a report has been sent to the Children’s Reporter – the government body which processes offences involving children.
